About the event
HCP and In Situ Art Club welcome French photographer Caroline Ruffault for a special conversation around her ongoing photographic project The Sky is Bigger in Texas (2025). Through this series, Ruffault explores the tensions between the mythology of the American road and the environmental realities of the vast oil and gas landscapes of Texas. Combining a poetic and documentary approach, her work invites us to reconsider the landscapes, narratives, and contradictions that shape the American West. The evening will take the form of a conversation with Caroline Ruffault, who will briefly introduce the project and its partnership, followed by a discussion about the work, its context, and the research behind it. A small selection of her photographic prints will also be presented. Free and open to the public.
