About the event

About Arielle Masson

Born in Mexico and raised in Brussels, Belgium, Arielle Masson has cultivated a globally-informed artistic practice. After completing a Master of Literature and Postgraduate studies in Linguistics at La Sorbonne in Paris, she moved to Houston, Texas, where she received a Master of Fine Arts in Painting from the University of Houston in 1990.

Arielle has exhibited extensively in Texas, France, and Mexico, with works displayed in museums such as the Museum of Anthropology of Xalapa, the Contemporary Art Gallery at Houston Baptist University, and the Mobile Museum of Art. Her pieces are included in the Museum of Fine Arts Houston collection, as well as numerous private and corporate collections.

In addition to her gallery work, Arielle has designed major public art projects for Houston's City Hall and the Metro Light Transit System. Her studio practice includes all forms of painting, with a particular focus on egg tempera and gouache techniques.
