We’ll begin with a 20-minute guided tour exploring the theater’s unique history and Art Deco architecture—offering a behind-the-scenes look at one of the city’s most cherished institutions.
The visit will be followed by an informal Q&A session with Robert Saucedo, Artistic Director and Programming Lead of the River Oaks Theatre , who will share insights into the theater’s preservation, evolution, and dynamic cultural role in Houston today.
About our host:
A lifelong cinephile and Houston native, Robert Saucedo grew up attending cult classics at the River Oaks Theatre—an experience that shaped his passion for film and community cinema. After spending 13 years in key programming roles at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, where he oversaw multiple markets including Houston, Chicago, and Dallas, he returned to River Oaks in mid-2024 to lead its artistic programming with boldness and creativity.
