Before the trip, participants will join an introductory two hour virtual presentation with Alice Sachs Zimet on the art of collecting photography.

Alice Sachs Zimet began collecting in 1985, well before fine art photography was widely recognized as a serious medium, and has since built a museum-quality collection of more than 350 works, spanning 20th-Century masters like Henri Cartier-Bresson and Robert Mapplethorpe to contemporary voices like Cindy Sherman and Zanele Muholi. Today, Alice is President of Arts + Business Partners, advising collectors and photographers on navigating the market. She chairs the Photography Curatorial Committee at the Harvard Art Museums and the Collections Committee at the International Center of Photography (ICP), and sits on the board of the Magnum Foundation and the American Friends of the Cartier Bresson Fondation in Paris . She teaches the fundamentals of collecting at Sotheby’s Institute of Art, Christie’s Education and, ICP, and photography schools across the United States.
